Anderson Hardwood Floors

Anderson Floors makes their floors for the real adventure of life. All of Anderson’s Floors are high-performance real wood floors cut from only the finest logs and are assembled for maximum stability and strength. All of their floors are made using 5-ply Cross-Locked Engineered™ construction which alternates the grain structure of five separate wood plies. These cross-grained layers are bonded together under tremendous heat and pressure during the manufacturing process to make them more durable. They exhibit greater hardness, stability, and split resistance when compared to standard oak lumber. High performance wood floors are pound-for-pound stronger than steel. Anderson’s 5-ply Cross-Locked Engineered™ construction is up to 100% harder than oak lumber flooring and will not buckle.

When it comes to the finish, Anderson makes two world-class finishes: the Freedom Finish™ and the new Commercial Quality Hybrid, the RhinoTuff Finish™.Both start with a new seven-coat acrylic urethane process that outwears most brands tested. The RhinoTuff Finish also offers another important feature: Aluminum Oxide (Al2O3) crystals, the abrasive used in premium grades of sandpaper. The RhinoTuff Finish contains millions of microscopic Al2O3 crystals that help create one of the most durable, stain-resistant hardwood floor finishes on the market.

You can add texture and excitement to any room with the type of wood, plank width, and plank profile. For instance, the smoothest textured wood floor would be a 5"-wide square-edge maple plank. A more highly textured look comes with a 3"-wide bevel-edge oak floor.

Anderson floors are perfect almost anywhere in your home—kitchen, powder room, bedroom, basement, home office, and living room. Any room in the house is okay, except around bathtubs and shower areas.

Treat your floor as a fifth wall when coordinating the overall color scheme. Anderson offers you the most color and Pizzazz for your home.

Anderson offers a 10-year finish warranty on the Freedom Finish, 20-years on the RhinoTuff finish and a lifetime structural warranty.

Hartco Hardwood Floors

Hartco has been a major manufacturer of quality hardwood flooring since 1946. Hartco
offers flooring for both residential and commercial markets in a broad range of products from solid to engineered construction in strip, plank, parquet and custom styles.

Founded in Oneida, Tenn., by Charles Tibbals, Hartco was originally called Tibbals Flooring Company (TFC). The company made stair treads, moldings, 3/4" sold strip flooring and various accessories. In the 1950's TFC used the waste from strip flooring to create 3/4" thick by 9" by 9" flor-blox.

To keep up with the changing technology, and the invention of carpet, TFC created its own 5/16" thick by 6" by 6" prefinished parquet in 1958 through a subsidiary called Hardwood Tile Company (Hartco). In 1976, Tibbals hired a new sales manager and TFC began selling its products through floor covering distributors.

In the 1980's TFC introduced a stain and wax parquet as well as an acrylic-impregnated parquet. Along with the introduction of parquet TFC introduced a revolutionary product called Pattern-Plus. Pattern-Plus was introduced in 1983 as a custom flooring option. In 1989, Hartco/TFC was sold to Premark International, which owned other companies such as Wilsonart, Florida
Tile and Tupperware.

With changes and the ever growing interest in hardwood floors, Hartco opened a new factory in Somerset, Ky., to
produce its new engineered plank and strip flooring. In 1994 after a 20-year absence, Hartco went back into the production of its unfinished 3/4" solid strip flooring and added prefinished in 1998.

Today Hartco Flooring Co., is one of the largest domestic manufacturers of hardwood flooring with five production facilities. Hartco is a division of Triangle Pacific Corporation - the world's largest manufacturer of hardwood flooring, and a subsidiary of Armstrong World Industries, the leading manufacturer of hard surface flooring in the world.

Lauzon Hardwood Flooring

Founded in 1985, David Lauzon Enterprises Ltd. (hereinafter "Lauzon") was initially a two men sawmill operation selling various lumber products locally.  In 1987, its owner, David Lauzon, quickly sensed the growing demand for various species of hardwood, particularly for flooring applications and he engaged in the complete remodeling of its operations to the full-scale hardwood strip flooring manufacturing facility it is today. Lauzon has since become one of North America's leading manufacturers of ¾ solid prefinished and ¾ solid unfinished premium quality hardwood strip flooring of which more than 80% is exported to worldwide markets such as the United States, Asia and to various European locations.

Lauzon's state-of-the-art technology,
versatility and experience benefit its customers delivering the very best in hardwood strip flooring products.  Now a leading Canadian hardwood flooring manufacturer, Lauzon is proud of its reputation in the marketplace. It takes
pride in the level of excellence and exceptional growth achieved through 15 years of know-how, skill, craftsmanship, and well directed training programs invested in selected individuals committed to quality to benefit the company and
customers alike.

In 1995, Lauzon's quality control system was the first in North America to comply with ISO 9002 (International Standards Organization) standards. Today, more than 38 quality-control inspections are carried out, from raw material entry and handling, through kiln drying, converting, and finishing operations.

September 1995 gave way to the successful start-up of Cubex Inc., a division specialized in the recycling of hardwood residues converted in such products as hardwood pellets for wood stoves. Strategically located next to the hardwood flooring plant, Cubex enjoys a competitive advantage in that it is instantly supplied with hardwood residues generated from the strip flooring plant thereby free from transportation or freight costs otherwise necessary in the raw material supply chain. Cubex is one of several of Lauzon's significant contributions to the protection of the
environment within its strategic development projects.

In the Spring of 1997, Lauzon completed two key phases of its strategic development plan whereby it became a fully integrated operation from the forest to the recycling of hardwood residues not utilized in strip flooring applications which it converts into subproducts. The first phase consisted in the acquisition of Makibois Inc., a sawmill located in Maniwaki, Province of Quebec, a region tremendously rich in forest.
Such acquisition is key to securing Lauzon with a significant amount of raw material supply over the next 25 years.

The second phase consisted in an additional capital investment in Maniwaki, leading to the purchase and successful start up of a complete strip flooring finishing line. Lauzon takes pride in this state-of-the-art European technology which guarantees high quality
finish not yet matched in the marketplace. This unique process brings added value to the Lauzon products which benefits all customers.  The process is solvent-free, so again environmentally friendly.

In July 1999, Lauzon announced that it joined forces with a Swiss based company to transfer to Lauzon the technology, know-how, and exclusive rights to produce and market NextStep ES engineered wood flooring in North America.  Commercial production of NextStep ES engineered flooring will commence in November at Lauzon's Quebec based facilities.

Lauzon's workforce has grown to a total of 200 and promises to grow to 240 once the engineered flooring line is in full operation.
