When it comes to locking mechanisms, there are two different options available: the click system or the tap and lock system. If the locking mechanisms are specified by the manufacturer, make sure that you follow the instruction.
When you are installing the laminate flooring make sure that you always leave a reasonable gap for possible material expansion wherever the laminate flooring meets a wall or a molding. Also, do not fix the molding to the laminate flooring.
It is advisable to buy a book for more detailed instructions, although usually the instructions about how to install laminate flooring also come together with materials.
