i have a black slate floor which has just been laid and when i put water on to clean them it drys dull and white what can i use to stop this happening ? | |

i sealed my slate floors. i thought the sealer would take away from the contemporary look i was going for, but it really enhanced the colors in my vijay gold flooring. you can use a matte or low gloss sealer by a company called aldon. it maintains the "honed" finish and keeps the slate from absobing water. the water absorption is what is causing the dull finish you get when you clean.
